Assimilation of the built environment into the fabric of urban space is a key factor to the success of a city. The urban landscape elements create a scale that encourages movement and connection within a larger architectural context. The landscape becomes the portal through which an individual connects with the city, marking the entrance to a ʻmain streetʼ setting, defining hidden green space, making the built world more human inspired. Design considerations include not only natural elements but those that take advantage of the resources an urban setting provides. Wayfinding, defined public andprivate space, vehicular and pedestrian circulation, lighting, public welfare, are all elements that hold as much importance as the natural setting within the urban space.
